This resource guide breaks down the core tensions from the COP30 final agreement and provides actionable links for investing in the transition, securing grants, and fighting the political pushback. The most effective way to combat the forces of stagnation is through self-reliance and education, proving that money talks and that the powers that be are afraid of a self-reliant, educated human population.

The Climate Finance Crisis & Solutions
The 2025 UN Global Risk Assessment states that the world is spending more than $2 trillion a year on disaster costs, a cost that only increases with the climate crisis. The vast majority of targets announced at COP30 for bridging this gap are voluntary commitments to mobilize private capital. You can actively bridge this gap yourself by funding mitigation, resilience, and sustainable development:
- For Sustainable Investments (Europe): Enerfip
- For Investments & 401Ks (USA): Carbon Collective
- To Find Grants (The Netherlands & Europe): Subsidies.io
- To Learn Climate Finance: The Green Program (Look out for the 2026 climate finance trip to Senegal!)
The Political Firewall & The Green Hush
The central conflict at COP30 was the successful lobbying by the fossil fuel exporters to block a formal roadmap for phasing out fossil fuels. What I see is that the political resistance stems from the fact that a shift to universally available renewable energy diminishes the social and political power assigned to fossil fuel countries.
Part of the evidence is this joint study by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) showed that time-bound renewable energy targets coupled with finance and policy can cut emissions, boost economies, seriously reduce poverty, and offer social benefits to people.
DEEP SEA MINING UPDATE:
Deep Sea Mining Petition: More than 40 countries worldwide now push back against deep sea mining. Until science can show that deep-sea mining will not cause irreversible damage, the world must protect the deep. Sign the petition here: https://www.change.org/p/say-no-to-deep-sea-mining/u/34059717
